1. INTRODUCTION

As already mentioned, the topic of this article is "Learn of Books and Learn of men". Under three main topics I hope to make a flow throughout my article. Those are human brain and learning, perception, and Human understanding. I am going to use below subtopics. Definition of learning, how to get prepared for learning, cramming, long term potentiation, propositional and objectual beliefs, Innate impressions and ideas, word power. I hope to use my personal experiences for better understanding.

2. HUMAN BRAIN AND LEARNING

Neuroscience research explains how the human brain learns. The one who does the work does the learning. (Doyle, 2008, p. 63). The brain also similar our other body parts and we need to manage it in a same way for the learning process, like our muscles need exercises.

2.1 DEFINITION OF LEARNING

Learning means getting knowledge or skills, using studies, experiences or being taught. As neurologists say when we learn something new, there is a physical change in our brain.

2.2 HOW TO GET PREPARED FOR LEARNING

Like I have already mentioned, human brain also should be treated as our muscles in arms and legs. Brain also need energy. Approximately it uses 25%-30% of the body's energy in the form of glucose. For a successful learning we need nutrition. As we know main nutritional substances are carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins, and minerals. It is harmful to consume short food for a long time, because they are containing simple carbohydrates like sugar, white flour.

Not only the food, but also having enough water is an essential thing in our brain cell. Otherwise, if the water level inside our body reduces, brain cells can cause dehydration.

Before we take part of a learning process it is good to have a proper sleep. It may be before going to school, before going to lectures, even before study at home.

2.3 CRAMMING - OWN EXPERIENCE

Cramming means study intensively within a short period of time just before an examination. As a student unfortunately I also faced with this experience. Without study the things we have learned for a long time; I was trying to finish up studying all the stuff within a few days. It is very pressure to our brain. At last, we can pass the examination, but suddenly after it all the things will leave our minds forever. Cramming is not a good habit and for a better learning experience, we should study the things that today we have learned itself and making practices of using them.

2.4 LONG TERM POTENTIATION

After learning something newly, by practicing using them always, make the connection between the brain cells. Then the brain cells get stronger and your ability to recall the information become faster. This process is called long term potentiation. It causes a long-term memory.

3. PERCEPTION

Perception had been a preoccupation of philosophers. Perception problems are created by perceptual illusions and hallucinations.

3.1 PROPOSITIONAL BELIEFS AND OBJECTUAL BELIEFS

"Proposition" term is widely used in philosophy. Things are about them under a description or name are known as propositional beliefs, while objectual beliefs about things are not. At least the believer can describe them in words of a property they are trusted to have.

4. HUMAN UNDERSTANDING

Different people have various perceptions of the mind. That means the way of something our perception into our brain and understanding them is varied to one person to another. It depends on several factors. Innate impressions and innate ideas are some factors.

5. CONCLUSION

In this article we have discussed about the human brain, perception, and human understanding. Though we discussed them under different topics all of these relate to each other. Perceptions need for understanding and all these processes happening trough the brain. We have discussed about how does the human brain works; how can we use our brain for learning purposes. These are the facts which help us for in our daily life, as a student.
